- Graduated from BJ Medical College, Pune in 1986.Completed postgraduate training in MS ophthalmology in 1989.
- Trained in cornea as a fellow at the prestigious LV Prasad Eye Institute in 1990 – 1991.
- Fellowship at the University of Rochester, New York in 1994 and the Strong Memorial Hospital in 1993-94.
- Completed training in Eyebanking – Baltimore in 1994.
- Started her career in 1994 with special interest in Corneal Disorders – diagnosis and treatment.
- Trained in advanced techniques of phacoemulsification and refractive procedures and for keratoprosthesis.
